My client are a small civil (heavy) engineering company who specialise in civil engineering construction and design and build contracts generally in a marine environment, constructing quaysides, jetties, heavy re-inforced concrete structures and bridges. They undertake technically demanding contracts in harsh environments. They undertake contracts from £5k to £10 million predominantly in the North-East of England.

They require a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join the team. Must have at least 5 years experience of handling a turnover in the region of £5 mill from a wide range of contracts. Part of the role would involve estimating therefore an overall knowledge of the industry will be required.

You will need knowledge of -

· Estimating
· Comparative Cost Planning
· Life Cycle Costing
· Preparing Contract Documentation
· Preparing Bills of Reduction
· Tender Evaluation
· Interim Valuations
· Cash Flow Analysis
· Cost Value Exercises (Monthly, Quarterly & Annually)
· Post Contract Cost Control
· Final Accounts
· Housing Maintenance Repair and Improvement
· Subcontract procurement
· Subcontract Management
· Subcontract Assessment (Financial, Production etc


You will be at Intermediate/Senior Level and you will have been with a similar company in a similar role. However candidates from a light civils background will also be considered.

An extensive knowledge of the local area is ESSENTIAL.









Experience in a similar role is essential.
