ASSET MAINTENANCE MANAGER – FAWDON, NR NEWCASTLE
Salary up to 45K + car allowance + benefits
The Nestlé Rowntree factory in Fawdon has been supplying sweets to the world since opening in 1958. Today the 30 acre site manufactures nearly 40,000 tonnes of well known brands such as Fruit Pastilles, Fruit Gums, Jelly Tots, Tooty Frooties, Rolo, Breakaway, Blue Riband, Matchmakers and Munchies every year.
Due to an internal move, we now have a vacancy for an Asset Maintenance Manager, reporting into Factory Engineering Manager. The role determines and continually improves the maintenance strategy for the department ensuring the optimum use of maintenance techniques to achieve maximum plant availability, efficiency and flexibility. Coordinating and developing a team of technicians/craft, you will be responsible for ensuring that planned maintenance is delivered on time and to budget and that resource is allocated in an efficient manner to ensure sustained performance improvement.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have:
• Engineering degree or of graduate calibre
• A proven track record of using proactive and preventative methodologies in a maintenance department
• A technical background in manufacturing or packaging
• An ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement to support the implementation of the NCE strategy (Nestle Continuous Excellence) which utilises world class improvement methodologies and encompasses the best of TPM, Lean and Six Sigma approaches
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the experience to drive and facilitate cultural change via coaching, training and mentoring
• Experience of any TPM, LEAN, Six Sigma improvement methodologies is highly desirable
