Our client is seeking a Part Qualified Accountant to join part of their Finance function in Newcastle. Superb opportunity to join hugely successful oil & gas client

Main Responsibilities
To work as part of the Finance Team and to provide an efficient and professional financial and management accounting service to the Group Financial Controller.
Supervise all company sales and purchase ledgers ensuring monthly sales invoices are prepared and action taken to ensure prompt payment and resolve queries.
Prepare cash flow forecasts for review by the Group Financial Controller, and ensure management are informed of any issues that could result in significant variations.
Produce monthly management accounts including trial balance, profit / loss and balance sheets for all companies whose accounting function is performed in Newcastle.
Accounts to show variances to annual budgets.
Assist in the preparation of statutory end of year accounts.
Ensure monthly reconciliation’s are performed on all key accounts including cash, sales and purchase ledger.
Submit UK and Irish VAT returns and payments to meet statutory deadlines.
Submit Irish RCT returns on time and ensure legal compliance.
Manage the financial processing of the monthly payroll including all PAYE compliance issues (including year end reconciliation’s).
Demonstrate competency in dealing with people face-to-face and on the telephone.
Develop good working relationships with the management team and provide ad hoc information as requested.
Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the accounting package.
Respond to ad hoc requests and undertake project-based initiatives as required
Deputise for the Group Financial Controller during periods of holiday and absence

Principal Accountabilities
To provide a first class financial and management accounting service to the business
Provide support, advice and recommendations to the Group Financial Controller.
Ensure trial balances and management accounts comply with the Group’s accounting standards, recognised good accounting practices and all statutory requirements.
Carry out all duties and work in accordance with the quality systems procedures operated by the Company

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills
Required
Part Qualified Accountant.
Understand accounts to trial balance and prepare P&L and balance sheets.
Previous experience working within a financial environment.
Be numerate and confident working with spreadsheets.
An ability to manage Sage or other accounts based packages is essential.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages.
Have highly developed inter-personal and organisational skills.
Be able to build good working relationships with people face-to-face and on the telephone.
Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise demanding workloads.
Be able to analyse problems, take decisions and recommend alternative solutions.
Be self motivated, enthusiastic and a team player.
Be able to take responsibility and have self confidence
