Bioinformatician / Software Developer - Newcastle upon Tyne

A successful, high profile company in the scientific data analysis software sector is now seeking to recruit a Bioinformatician / Software Developer to be based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Your role will be to help design, develop, enhance, test and implement desktop applications. You will also liaise with sales and marketing teams and customers throughout the application lifecycle.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bioinformatician with experience in software development and biostatistics to join the development team. You will be degree educated in a related field (Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics) and have the ability to develop innovative solutions to proteomic data analysis problems using a combination of statistical modelling, data modelling and analysis and mathematical modelling. You will have experience of statistical aspects of biological study design, a solid understanding of object-orientated programming in C#, C++ or Java and the ability to work effectively within a development team.

It would be advantageous (but not essential) if you were to have proficiency in .NET C#, the ability to communicate statistical concepts, knowledge of 2D gel electrophoresis, LC-MS or MALDI techniques and agile development process experience.

Salary will be in the region of £25k to £35k dependent on experience.
